Prize money for 1st, 2nd and 3rd, door prizes, giveaways
Note:
Three Flight: A, B, and C Format: Two man best ball We will pay prize money to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place teams for each flight A, B and C (Depending upon number of participants). Your team handicap is used to place a team into the appropriate flight and will be used to cap final score if necessary. Max Individual HCP: Flight A: 10; Flight B: 20; Flight C: no limit. It is important to remember the following when discussing player handicaps. The USGA Handicap System is based upon the potential ability of a player rather than the average of all his scores. A player's Handicap Index reflects his potential because it is based upon his best scores posted for a given number of rounds, ideally the best 10 of his last 20 rounds. Since the USGA has his worst 10 scores tossed out, his Handicap Index reflects his best days. The USGA's Handicap Research tells us that the average player is expected to play to his Handicap or better only about 20 percent (1:5) of the time, typically average three strokes higher than his Handicap, and have a personal best score of 1 in 20 rounds of golf, which is two strokes better than his Handicap (see the table below for more details). Team Handicap Calculation: Team Handicap = Ratio of lower handicap over higher handicap; Ratio multiply by 5; subtract result from lowest team member's handicap (Choose your handicaps accurately and carefully; see Scoring Cap Rule below) Example: (Team Long Horns) Member #1 Handicap 12 and Member #2 Handicap 19...12/19 =0.63; 5 X 0.63=3.15; 12 - 3.15 = 8.85 Team Handicap Scoring Cap Rule: There will be no disqualifications; however, a team in Flights B and C will be capped to a best score based on their team handicaps. Using the example above and allowing for a statistical best day score of 4 strokes below the team handicap, Team Long Horns with a team handicap of 8.85 would be capped at (72 + (8.85-4.0)) =76.85. In other words, Team Long Horns would not be allowed to post a score less than 77. http://www.usga.org/handicapping/articles_resources/Odds-of-Shooting-an-Exceptional-Tournament-Score/
